Kobold Festival 0.0.25


I wanted to show the current progress. Day 0 has been ported to ren'py and a similar treatment will be done for day 1 and 2. The tyranobuilder version of the game is still available to play so people can compare.

I'm realizing that this is becoming the equivalent of someone starting a comic then redrawing the first pages again and again so I'll be committing to the game engine and getting more story in the game. The main goal is to get three kobolds romanceable with the first one being Timothy. Thanks~

I love the way the update came out!! Stellar improvement!

+ Love the character customization, looking even better!
+The way the chats are handled look really nice!
+ I love that Leeg is shown during the chats --  HUGE huge yes!
+ The art is looking really nice, i love the simple animations added!

The only change Id recommend yeah is what another user said about the chats being reduced to whats actually able to be talked about.

Also I wanna marry tumble, like, so bad~ !! All their designs are so cute!

thanks~ It's nice to hear people are enjoying the new build, and yeah I think it's a step in the right direction. I'll be focusing on a different kobold's route but yeah Tumble's going to be romanceable at one point

I'd recommend limiting the chat only to what is usable in the conversation at that moment, since the options build up fast and their applicability is up to trial and error.

I think I can put a filter button to put the dialogue that finishes the scene on top, but some of the ideas that aren't needed might contain jokes, small talk, and some world building

We are not in disagreement in this regard. When I said “usable” I meant that as something that provokes a unique response, so those ideas would fit under that umbrella. What I’m talking about are the options that result in a generic response to show it doesn’t add to the conversation, such as “What?” or “Sorry, I didn’t hear that.”

The improvements of Renpy are quite noticeable and improve the game a lot visually although, for my part I did not find any bug but it is appreciated that they testeen, I am really liking the way the game is taking, continue with the good work, you are really making a very nice game.

I keep crashing after I press the chat button after the socializing with Finn event starts on day 1. I have a copy of the traceback if that's helpful.

EDIT: Tested this more, i think it might be do to a missing sprite animation on Finn but I'm not sure. The game only crashes during while they're idle, however if I'm fast i can trigger dialogue before it crashes and it will let me proceed through the dialogue without issue.

ah, sorry. Hope you enjoyed it so far though.  Yes please, the error would be helpful.

okay, I updated the script and that should prevent the crash. You may need to start a new game though.

I made another update. Maybe it was Finn's groin poke messing up. But his scene seems to be working fine now when I test it.

Yup it works properly for me now, I was able to retain my save by transferring the files to the new game folder as well.
